Creating Your Resume Header

The first step to writing a great resume is including the right information. The items that you include in your resume fall into six categories: The contact information, objective statement, education, work experience, references and other. At the top of your resume include your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. Be creative, but professional. This will make your resume memorable. You may want to download some blank resume templates to get started. Avoid using a nickname on your resume and use a professional sounding email address. If you want to be taken seriously, don’t include your littlefluffybunnies@email.com email address. Make sure that you include a permanent telephone number and address so that the employer can contact you easily. If you have a website related to your professional activities you may want to include this on your resume.
