Optional Contents to Include in Your Resume

You may want to include some of the following optional information in your resume. Only include this information if it is somehow related to the position for which you are applying.
Courses:
You may want to include courses from college if they are relevant to the position for which you are applying. Do not include more than four to six of these courses. Examples of courses you may want to include in your resume are Business Communication or Industrial Design. If you are included coursework on your resume or cover letter, you may also want to include significant coursework concentrations you studied.
Special Skills:
If you have any special skills that are marketable in your career area, include them on your resume. For example, specific computer skills, foreign languages, etc. Do not include vague skills such as working with people or written communication on your resume. These are assumed from your work experience.
Special Projects:
If you have any relevant class projects, volunteer work, internships, or other activities, you may want to include them on your resume or in your cover letter. Make sure that you demonstrate how the projects are related to the position for which you are applying.
Leadership:
If you have leadership in any organizations include this on your resume. Make sure not to include information that would be controversial, such are religious or political organizations.
